What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is injectable dermal filler consisting of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring complex sugar found in the human body. Juvederm has become well-known as wrinkle filler because of its smooth consistency and long-lasting results.
Juvederm injections are ideal for: nasolabial folds (the “parentheses” from the nose to the corners of the mouth), marionette lines (the folds below the corners of the mouth), vertical lip lines (or “smoker’s lips”), lip augmentation and lower face definition.
How Does Juvederm Work?
As the skin ages and is exposed to the effects of the sun and our environment, the cells lose the ability to produce hyaluronic acid. The skin then begins to lose volume, resulting in the formation of wrinkles and folds. When Juvederm is injected under the skin, it replaces the lost hyaluronic acid and attracts and maintains water—thus restoring lost volume and keeping your skin hydrated.
Wrinkle Filler
Juvederm can soften ‘static lines’, the deep lines and wrinkles seen on your face when it is still. These include the nasolabial folds (or smile lines) that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth, which can become quite prominent with aging. The gel is injected beneath the folds to plump up the depression.
Facial Contours
Loss of facial volume during the aging process can result in hollows in the cheeks caused by fat loss under the skin, and jowls caused by sagging skin. Juvederm VOLUMA is used to contour the jaw line and restore fullness in the cheeks for a more youthful appearance.

Juvederm Injections: What to Expect
Some sensitive areas may need a local anesthetic. A Juvederm wrinkle filler treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and there is minimal downtime. The results are instantaneous, and last up to a year or more depending on the area of injection.
