What is IPL?
IPL is a non-invasive procedure that utilizes a powerful flash of filtered light. This light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by abnormal pigment. The result is a darkening of the pigmented spots within 4-7 days, which subsequently peel off, revealing smoother,more even skin tones.
IPL can address a variety of benign skin imperfections from sun damage, aging skin and redness, to enlarged pores and facial veins. It can be used on the face, neck, décolleté, arms and hands.
What’s Involved?
IPL treatments do not require any anesthetic. The procedure is completed in 30-45 minutes with little or no downtime, which means the treatment can be done during your lunch break or before any other regular activity.
Just one or two treatments can reduce spots, smooth uneven pigmentation and help repair broken facial capillaries and veins. Additional treatments will continue to improve tone, texture and stimulate the dermis to produce more collagen. The ideal number of treatments depends on the patient, but most people require two to five treatments for optimum results.
